#GONEGREEN2016 | DAY 244 | GREEN GIFT GUIDE | 9 ECO + ETHICAL GIFT IDEAS FOR TODDLERS
Day 244 / 365
Over the past few years, since the birth of my niece and nephew (pictured), I've gotten good at hunting down conscious children's gifts, especially for toddlers. It's amazing how many wonderful brands are out there doing good green things, happily coalescing aesthetics with eco and ethical production to create products more enticing and exciting than their mainstream counterparts.
While this season isn't necessarily about more stuff, I think a healthy mix of useful, wearable, sustainable products and donations on your loved one's behalf gives you a happy combination of the new and old traditions.
I've created a few other green gift guides thus far including: Donations Gift Guide HERE | Men's Green Gift Guide HERE | Small Business Gift Guide HERE | Woman's Gift Guide HERE | Babies Gift Guide HERE |

CHILOTE SHOES | Baby Booties | $52.00
Eco + Ethical How? The materials for the slippers are sourced in Patagonia as well from sheep who provide one of nature's most useful materials, wool. The fibre is then spun and knit by hand to create a slipper which is both insulating and ventilating allowing it to adapt your little one's feet to an ideal temperature. Each pair also features locally and ethically produced Salmon Leather which is made with upcycled and repurposed salmon skin discarded by the fishing industry to create a new product which is both durable and flexible. These two naturally sourced materials mean the entire slipper can be composted at the end of its lifecycle - unlike most slippers which are laden with non-biodegradable acrylic materials and rubber.
