As the winter season approaches I cant help but get excited for our family snow trip. Dreaming about hitting the slopes, cozying up next to warm fires with hot cocoa, pulling on soft comfy layers and trudging through snow fields. There is something so comforting about the crisp cold air, an icy stillness that creates a feeling of calm and leave's me rejuvenated. Unfortunately my skin takes a beating especially after a day on the mountain, my whole body tends to feel a bit run over actually (I crash a lot while snowboarding). I've picked a few of my favorite all natural beauty products for pampering once back at the cabin, as well as some cozy clothing to snuggle up in.
French Girl Rose Lip Polish provides great gentle exfoliation and moisture for wind blown lips. While Fig + Yarrow Foot Treatment and Foot Butter soothe those tired soles. I recently got introduced to Mystic Man through my cousin and her green spa Natural Feeling Spa, the company makes a wonderful nourishing beard oil. They utilize a blend of organic oils and Sedr extract, an ancient Mediterranean hair remedy that protects and conditions. Mystic Man would be a great cure for the ails of frozen beard syndrome. I have to admit I steal a little here and there for my own hair. Eir's Cooling Butter is wonderful for sore muscles, I linked to their Sun Rescue Kit which includes a few other goodies that would be much appreciated after a day out in the elements. Last but not least of the beauty products is Urb Apothecary's Skin Salvation. This multi purpose salve is packed full of healing ingredients and can be used on anything from rashes and burns to chapped skin or lips. A definite most have in harsh weather!
Christy Dawn makes a lovely sweater dress that would provide the ultimate comfort when curling up in the cabin. It is equally as perfect for hitting the town to grab a couple post slope beers as well. The dress is made using deadstock fabric which is surplus left over from larger fashion houses, making the dress not only Beautiful but sustainable. Another great cuddling up piece is Lacausa's Winter Morning Jumpsuit, even the name is spot on. I am a huge fan of a one piece and this one is just gorgeous. Of course a snow trip calls for some hand knit gear. I love these mittens and beanie by A Wool Story, made in Detroit using 100% recycled wool or cotton. Old sweaters are unraveled by hand to collect the yarn, pretty yarn cool if you ask me. Also included are a pair of Skinny Sweat pants from LA based line Sundry, a blanket like wool scarf by Faribault Woolen Mill and a little Widow Jane Bourbon to warm you up from the inside out. I've thrown in a couple vintage pieces of my own that are part of my essential cabin wear, a cozy flannel button up and thick woolly socks.
